The National Monuments Service's description
According to John Feehan (Environmental Survey, Damer House, 1987) 'In an adjoining field [to SMR TN015-056] is a ploughed field which was covered by rounded stones. The soil in this field in places was black and showed signs of being a fulacht fiadh…some charcoal…The black soil is well spread around the field as is the charcoal so it is difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the fulacht fiadh'.
Possible fulacht fia remains unlocated within the townland.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
