The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a slight SE-facing slope in pastureland. Depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1st ed. (1843) OS 6-inch map bisected by a NW-SE field boundary. On the current (1903) ed. only the SW side of the site is depicted. The NE half of the site has been levelled but is still visible at E as a curving rise. The SW half (dims. 42m NW-SE; 20m NE-SW to field boundary) is raised above the external ground level (H 1.67m), with a bank reduced to a scarp and is surrounded by a wide, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 5.4m; D 0.85m) and slight counterscarp. A concrete shed occupies the S sector.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
