The National Monuments Service's description
House of 19th-century date with no earlier features apparent internally or externally. Craig describes the house as nineteenth century 'but said to be very complex' (1972, 36, Unpublished) and Bence-Jones similarly ascribes a 19th-century date to the building but adds 'said to incorporate older building' (1988, 12). A comprehensive survey of the house carried out in 2024 found no evidence of any fabric pre-dating the construction of the house in c.1800 (Gregory 2024).
