The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a SW-facing slope in undulating pasture. Depicted on 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map as a semicircular clump of trees, possibly enclosed, immediately W of a field boundary. The depiction is clearer on the 1901-5 ed., once again showing a circular enclosure bisected from NW to SE with only W half surviving. The present remains consist of the much-disturbed W half of the mound (diam. NW-SE 25m; max. H 2m at NW) heavily overgrown with brambles and nettles. The only surviving portions, at NW and SW, do not give a true representation as dumped clay and stone has been pushed to the sides. Large concrete 'lintels' and stones have been dumped at the base of the mound in the NW quadrant and there is a lot of loose stone hidden in undergrowth. The N side of the site has been truncated and there is no trace of the site on the other side of the field boundary. Described by Ó Ríordáin (1953, 90) as 'a low mound [which] appears to have a kerb and also a concentric ring of stones outside it'. These stones appear to have been levelled.
