The National Monuments Service's description

Situated off the crest of a ridge on a SW-facing slope in pastureland. Depicted as a rectangular enclosure on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map, with its N side either truncated by or incorporated in the townland boundary. On the 1901-5 ed. the site is shown as an intact circular enclosure. It is much denuded and is truncated along the N side by road built c. 1920 along the line of the townland boundary. Present remains consist of a circular area (diam. 24.2m E-W) enclosed by a flattened bank (H 0.52m) and external fosse (Wth 6.5m; D 0.22m).

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
