The National Monuments Service's description

Located just off the crest of a ridge in ground sloping to the SW, in pastureland. Depicted as a curving boundary forming a wedge between two field boundaries on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map. A very low, curving bank (Wth c. 8m) which appears to have been levelled is possibly that indicated on the OS 6-inch map. It may have been part of a circular enclosure but there is no visible trace of the site continuing into the adjacent field to the N.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
