The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a very gradual SE slope in pasture. A small stream enters the fosse at N. A circular area (diam. 45m NW-SE; 48m NE-SW) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 6m; int. H 1m; ext. H 2.38m) and partly waterlogged fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 1m) with a causewayed entrance (Wth 3.7m) at SE. The landowner built up this causeway and inserted a concrete cylindrical culvert to allow the stream to flow through.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
