The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on high ground with good views in all directions. Described by Wheeler (OPW file, 1955) as a raised circular platform (diam. 50m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by a scarp with no evidence of an external fosse or entrance feature. Not visible at ground level. Probably removed during a land improvement scheme in the late 1950s.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
