The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on high ground in an upland area with extensive views. A circular area (diam. 50m N-S; 48m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3m; ext. H 0.8m; int. H 0.8m) which forms a field fence at NW with slight evidence of an internal fosse (Wth 3m; D 0.4m). No visible entrance feature or external fosse. A modern gap exists in the bank at SW. Loosely piled rubble on top of the bank is probably a result of field clearance activity.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
