The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a low rise of ground in undulating countryside. No visible remains of the tower described by Bence-Jones (1988, 293) as located to the rear of a two-storey three-bay eighteenth-century house. There are wall fragments protruding from the back wall of the house which are later than the house as they are keyed-in to the rubble infill of a blocked-up window of the house.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
