The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in flat pasture in slightly undulating countryside. A raised circular area (diam. 50m NW-SE) enclosed by an earthen tree-lined bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 1-1.5m) with slight traces of an external fosse visible at W and N only. Possible modified entrance gap (Wth 3m) is positioned at E with a modern gap (Wth 1.7m) in the bank at N. Wall-footings of a small stone building are located in the N sector. This was a nineteenth-century stone building associated with the nearby big house to the S. Probable ringfort reused as a tree-ring.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
