The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground with extensive views. A circular area (diam. 27m E-W) enclosed by a tree-lined bank (Wth 1.1m; ext. H 1.5m) with a shallow external fosse (Wth 2.3m; D 0.4m) visible from SW through W to N. No entrance feature or likely location for such a feature visible. Probably the site of a tree-ring as depicted on the 1903 ed. OS 6-inch map.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
