The National Monuments Service's description
A group of divers from the Athlone sub aqua diving club were asked to locate a boat which had sunk off the coast near Terryglass in the late 1980's. They carried out the search and found inter alia a line of wooden stakes in the riverbed approx 20m from the front of Old Court Castle/Terryglass Castle. They did not report this to anybody at the time (pers. comm. M. Gerrard). These wooden stakes may be related to some underwater structure such as a bridge or other structure associated with Terryglass Castle (TN006-025----).
