The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the S-facing slope of a low E-W ridge in undulating countryside. A raised circular enclosure (6:10(01)) (diam. 35.7m E-W; ext. H 1m) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank reduced to a scarp in most places. Field clearance debris is dumped around the perimeter of the site. No entrance feature visible. According to the OS Name Books (1840) the interior of the site was used as a burial place for unbaptised children.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
