The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a low rise of ground in undulating countryside. Indicated as a circular enclosure on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map but not indicated on the 1903 ed. OS 6-inch map. On the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map the enclosure is not indicated as an antiquity but is depicted with a dotted line defining a circular area. The placename 'Kyle' appears on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map below this circular feature which may suggest that the circular area marks the location of a possible burial ground. Not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
