The National Monuments Service's description
In rough grazing, straddling the top of a narrow E-W ridge. A circular area (c. 36m N-S; 36.5m E-W) defined by the remains of an earthen bank. The interior is defined NE-SE by a slight flat-topped rise (Wth 2.9m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.1m), SE-SW by a barely perceptible scarp, WSW-NW by remains of a levelled bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.2m) and NNW-NNE by a low scarp (H 0.6m). The interior is slightly dome-shaped following the natural contour of the ridge and is covered in rushes. Inside the bank at E and W is a band of slightly wetter ground (Wth c. 2.5m) which dips slightly below the level of the interior. A field boundary and drain lie immediately to N. A rath (SL047-078----) lies c. 20m to W and a bowl-barrow (SL047-079----) c. 70m to NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
