The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a S-facing slope on Derrymore Island in Lough Gara. A raised circular area (int. diam. 20m) enclosed by two banks and an intervening waterlogged fosse (Wth 6m) which is best evident along the W arc. The inner bank is earthen but degraded (Wth 2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) while the outer bank is of earth and stone (Wth 2.5m; int. H 1.55m; ext. H 1.3m). This rath overlooks a complex of eight possible crannogs (SL047-012002-; SL047-012003; SL047-012004-; SL047-012005-; SL047-012006-; SL047-012007-; SL047-012008-; SL047-012009) and one crannog (SL047-012001-), all to SE.
