On a gentle S-facing slope, on a narrow peninsula in Lough Gara. A subrectangular area (c. 100m E-W; c. 60m N-S) defined on the E and W sides by field boundaries, on the S side by a scarp (H c. 1m) and on the N side by a low relict field boundary. The interior is grass-covered. In the NW quadrant is the outline of a rectangular enclosure (c. 35-40m N-S; 30m E-W), which was indicated by a broken line on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. It is defined on the E and W sides by a low sod-covered rise (Wth 1.4m; H 0.3m), on the S side by a low scarp obscured by overgrowth while its N side is open. In the S half of this enclosure is another smaller rectangular area (13m N-S; 11.8m E-W) which is enclosed by a collapsed stone wall. There is a penitential station (SL046-026002-) with a collection of praying stones (SL046-026004-) on its upper surface, in the SW quadrant of this latter area. In general, the interior of the smaller rectangular area has an uneven stony surface but there are a few small upright slabs, probably grave-markers. A shallow oblong sunken area (9m N-S; 6m E-W) with a shallow linear depression (Wth 1m) extending from its S end, lies in the NE quadrant. The remains of a corn-drying kiln (SL046-026003-) are on the S side. St Patrick's well (SL046-044----) lies c. 100m to the NW.
