The National Monuments Service's description

On the SE-facing spine of a narrow-topped ridge. A raised circular area (int. diam. 31m E-W; 31m N-S) enclosed by three earthen banks, best preserved along the W and S arcs, with intervening fosses. The inner bank is the highest (Wth 2.85m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.8m) and has possible stone facing. The middle bank (Wth 1.9m; ext. H 0.45m) drops 0.4m to base of inner fosse. The external bank (Wth 2.8m; ext. H 0.6m) drops 0.6m to the base of the middle fosse. There are narrow gaps through the inner, middle and outer banks (Wth 1m, 1.4m and 1m respectively) at W. The inner and middle fosses (Wth 1.95m and Wth 2.2m respectively) are both waterlogged. The interior rises towards the centre and slopes down towards E.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
