The National Monuments Service's description
In gently sloping rocky pasture. A ruined gallery (L 4.5m; Wth 2.2m) is aligned NE-SW. A prostrate stone at the NE end is a fallen backstone (Wood-Martin 1883-4, 448-9, no. 2; 1888, 169, no. 2). Three orthostats are in place at the more northerly side. Two are alongside to the W and are separated by a gap 1.3m wide from the third which adjoins the prostrate backstone. One orthostat is in place at the NE end of the other side of the gallery. Alongside to the W there is another orthostat that has fallen outwards and is now almost prostrate. The outer end of the last supports a stone, possibly a displaced orthostat (ibid.). A natural oval hillock (SL041-034002-) at the edge of the field c. 100m to SE is possibly what Wood-Martin (1883-4, 449) referred to as a 'sepulchral mound on the summit of a slight rise almost obliterated by tillage'. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 78, no. 124)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
