The National Monuments Service's description

In rough grazing, on a low narrow terrace abutting the base of a precipitous NE-facing escarpment in the Bricklieve Mountains. A slightly raised circular area (25m NNW-SSE; 24m ENE-WSW) enclosed by a ruinous sod-covered stone wall (Wth 2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.6m). At the base of the slope SSW-W the wall is very low externally (H 0.2m) but higher internally (H 1m). External stone-facing is evident, consisting of slabs and boulders bedded on their sides. The entrance (Wth 1.65m) is in the S arc. The interior is clear of overgrowth and mostly flat apart from a small section at W which slopes downwards; a small linear depression (L 1.5m; Wth 2m; D 0.5m), containing a number of stones, is evident at W. A narrow break in the cliff-face, at a point just above the cashel allows access to the plateau-like top of the ridge where there is a hut site (SL040-15904-). One of a line of cashels (SL040-156---, -157---; -161---) spaced at intervals along the long axis of the terrace. Another cashel (SL040-158001-) lies on an elevation c. 150m to NE. An enclosure (SL040-15902-) lies c. 26m to SSE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
