The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a S-facing slope overlooking Templevanny Lough to the W; in the centre of Templevanny graveyard (SL040-148002-) and within a possible ecclesiastical enclosure (SL040-148004-). Though mention is made in 1836 of 'the ruins of an old Church or Monastery called Teampull a Mhanaig' at this site (OSL, 151), there is no trace of it in the graveyard. It may be the structure shown on the E side of the graveyard on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, adjacent to the enclosing wall, and it was probably removed when the graveyard was extended on that side. A fragment of a window probably from the church, which was found here, is in the NMI (M. B. Timoney 2001b, 54). A section of Bóthar an Corrann (SL033-145----) lies c. 1.1km to the W.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
