The National Monuments Service's description

Attached to the external E face of a cashel wall (SL040-085002-). A rectangular area (c. 16m N-S; 6.5m E-W) defined by a wall of large, contiguous boulders intersecting with the cashel wall at SW and NNW. Stones and boulders are scattered throughout the interior, some of which appear to form E-W sub-divisions that divide the space into two or possibly three compartments. Appended to the N end is another smaller subrectangular compartment (6.3m N-S; 5.5m E-W). Extending from the NW corner of the latter is a barely discernible field boundary wall (Wth c. 1m) that extends to N, then curves to NE to terminate at the foot of the steep ridge face, enclosing a fairly level space (c. 40m N-S; c. 20.5m E-W).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
