The National Monuments Service's description
In rough upland pasture, in the Bricklieve Mountains. A D-shaped area (dims. 23m WNW-ESE; min. 20m NNE-SSW) defined on the straight NW side by a field boundary wall and a road and ENE-W by a shallow fosse with an external bank. The road probably truncates the rath. The shallow fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.3m) is a poorly defined depression of damp ground, marked by a growth of rushes. The bank (Wth 5.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.3m) is evident as a low rise with a well-defined inner face bordering the fosse but with a broad low external slump. It is best preserved E-S, becoming increasingly degraded S-W. There is a break (Wth 4.4m) in the bank at S with a causeway (Wth c. 3m) across the fosse. The interior is level but has a slight depression (diam. 7m) in the W half.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
