The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, at the edge of a narrow ravine at the SE end of a ridge and within the N end of a field system (SL040-063001-). A circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), possibly a cashel, is visible in an aerial photograph (CUCAP, AVI 78) taken in 1968 with a rectangular hut site (SL040-070002-) in the centre of the interior. According to local information, the area was cleared of stone in the 1970s and the site levelled. The barely discernible outline of a subrectangular area (c. 22m NE-SW; 15m NW-SE) was noted, defined at NE by the edge of the ravine and elsewhere by a slight rise.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
