The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture and within a field system (SL038-110005-). A circular platform (25m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by a stony scarp (H 0.7m). The interior is level but uneven with stones protruding from the sod. There is a possible break (Wth 2.6m) in the scarp at SSE. An irregular hollow (2.5m NW-SE; 2.7m NE-SW; D 0.3m) in the top of the scarp at NE from which a narrow linear depression (Wth 1m; D 0.3m), flanked by an irregular raised stony rim, extends into the interior of the cashel. Appended to the W edge of the cashel is a square field (19m NW-SE; 20.5m NE-SW) enclosed by the remains of a wall. A slightly sunken subrectangular feature (8.2m NW-SE; 3.5m NE-SW) lies 2m to ENE truncated at NE by a field boundary wall. There is a hut site (SL038-110011-) c. 25m to SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
