The National Monuments Service's description
Listed in both the SMR (1989) and RMP (1995) and classified 'Enclosure' and 'Field System' respectively. In pasture, straddling the base of a S-facing slope and c. 20m S of a rath (SL038-028001-). Indicated as a large roughly rectangular field (c. 45m E-W; c. 40m N-S) on the 1838 and 1941-2 editions of the OS 6-inch map with straight W, N and E sides and an irregular S side. The 1838 map shows the circular enclosure (SL038-028003-) partially within the SW corner of this field. The present remains consist of a large field enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2m) with a shallow external fosse (Wth 2m). The interior is divided in two on a N-S axis by a slightly curving E-facing scarp following a break in slope. Projecting from the S side of the field is a rectangular platform or possible house site and immediately to the E of this is a sunken trackway (Wth 3m), bordered on its E side by an earthen bank, which extends for several metres to the S. Parallel to and c. 30m W of this is a field boundary. In the intervening space are a number of low irregular hummocks, possibly the remains of houses. This is probably a 19th-century field system or deserted settlement.
