The National Monuments Service's description

In a farmyard, c. 50m N of a stream. Fragmentary remains of the E side of a moated site; farm buildings and a yard have been built over the W side of the site. A rectangular area (18.5m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by the remains of an earthen bank (Wth c. 3.5m; int. H 1.2m) on the E side and along the E half of the S side (L c. 18m). An external flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 5m; D c. 0.7m) is at the base of the bank on the E side. The remains of an E-W field boundary lies immediately to N. Indicated as a circular enclosure on the 1838 OS 6-inch map in the NW corner of a field and as a rectangular enclosure on the 1914 OS 6-inch map, defined by hachures on the S and E sides and by field boundaries on the N and W sides.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
