The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a low rise. A raised roughly circular area (22.1m N-S; 25.7m E-W) enclosed by two earthen banks with an intervening fosse. The inner flat-topped earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.9m) is stone-faced internally. The intervening boggy fosse (Wth 7m) is evident SSE-E. The outer flat-topped earthen bank (Wth 5.4m; int. H 1.8m; ext. H c. 1.2m) is evident S-NE and E-ESE. There is a quarry to SE along the line of the fosse and the outer bank. There is an E-W field boundary on top of the outer bank to NW and a N-S field boundary lies adjacent to E. The rath is heavily poached by cattle and the perimeter is overgrown.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
