The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on the E-facing slope of a low rise. A large roughly circular area (int. diam. 122m N-S; 127m E-W) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth 8m; int. H 1.9m; ext. H 1.9m) S-NE with quarried gaps along the NW and SW arcs and by a field boundary NE-SE. No enclosing elements are evident SE-S. The interior slopes down to SE; there are barely discernible stone foundations of a rectangular structure (12m NW-SE; 7.8m NE-SW) (SL037-043002-) on a low rise in the NE quadrant. There is a possible souterrain (SL037-106----) c. 15m to NW, a rath (SL037-044----) c. 20m to SW and a mound barrow (SL037-042----) c. 100m to NW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
