The National Monuments Service's description

On a terrace, on the southern slopes of the Ox Mountains. An oval area (35.5m N-S; 38m E-W) enclosed by a partially collapsed drystone wall (Wth 1.9m; ext. H 1.9m). Internally the wall survives to a height of 0.4-1m and there is a large amount of collapsed material from the wall around the edge of the interior. An intervening fosse (Wth 8m) and an outer earthen bank (int. H 1.2m; ext. H 1.75m) are evident NNE-SW. The bank is revetted internally and externally in parts by a drystone wall. A linear N-S field boundary lies immediately outside the stone wall to W. The outer bank is indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map as continuing around to W outside the linear field boundary. This is now part of the lawn adjoining a bungalow. The interior is overgrown with bushes and briars and there is a souterrain (SL036-041002-) in the W half. A drainage channel lies to the N of the cashel.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
