Megalithic tomb - wedge tomb

The National Monuments Service's description

On a little knoll in the same valley as another wedge-tomb (SL036-035----) c. 1km to SW. A WNW-facing gallery (L at least 7m; Wth 1.85m at front, narrows sharply to rear), flanked at the S by the slight remains of an outer wall, stands on a D-shaped platform (H 0.5m to 1m) which appears to be artificial. There are vague traces of mound at the back and along the N side of the gallery. A number of displaced and largely concealed roofstones cover the E end of the structure. Three orthostats are in position at the front of the more northerly side of the gallery, the first set outside the line of the other two. Beyond these, two largely concealed slabs, apparently sidestones, have collapsed inwards. About 1m beyond these another inward-leaning stone, now split, also appears to be a sidestone. Four orthostats are in position at the outer end of the more southerly side of the gallery, the second set outside the line of the others. About 1.5m beyond these an outwards-leaning stone may also be a sidestone. There are three buttress-stones outside the N side of the gallery, one at right angles to the inner end of the first orthostat and there are two just beyond the collapsed easternmost sidestone. There is another buttress-stone outside the more westerly end of the second sidestone at the S. Outside and parallel to the opposite end of the same orthostat there is a low stone perhaps like the buttress-stone intended to support the gallery side. There are two outer-wall stones alongside some 1.5m beyond the end of the S side of the gallery. A large stone in front of the tomb is displaced. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 73-4, 116, no. 116)
