The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on a sloping ridge with a steep scarp down to a stream on the NE side. A rectangular area (int. diam. 27.4m x 26.1m) defined on the S, W and N sides by an earthen bank and by a scarp on the E side. The bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.95m) has numerous gaps and on the N and W sides is overgrown with bushes. An external fosse (Wth 1.7m; D 0.5m) is evident on the W and N sides. There is a possible entrance (Wth 2.7m) near the SW corner with a causeway across the fosse.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
