The National Monuments Service's description
In rocky pasture, on a W-facing slope. The remains of an oval stone-built structure (int. dims.: 4.2m N-S; 11.1m E-W) with ruinous sod-covered stone walls (Wth 1.2m; int. H 0.85m; ext. H 0.1m). Two limestone slabs, one at N and the other at W (Wth 2m; H 1.55m) indicate the remains of external stone facing. There is a gap (Wth 5m) at SW. A cashel (SL035-002----) lies c. 40m to NNW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
