The National Monuments Service's description

On the N-facing slope of a ridge. An oval area (52m N-S; 64m E-W) terraced into the hillslope with the N portion up to c. 1.8m above and the S portion up to c. 2.2m below the external ground level. The interior is enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1m) along the E and W arcs and by a scarp elsewhere; remains of external stone facing is visible along the N arc. The interior slopes down to N; there is a level platform (c. 12m N-S; l0m E-W) in the S half, close to the bank and bounded on the E side by an earthen bank (Wth 1.4m; H 0.5m). The NE quadrant of the interior is bounded by a right-angled field boundary.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
