The National Monuments Service's description

On a small elevation in pasture broken by rock outcrop some 40m W of a small stream. The tomb stands at the S end of an oval mound (9m N-S; 7m E-W; H 0.5m). The portal-stone to the W (H 1.95m), alongside it a sillstone (H 0.45m), and a sidestone (H 1.4m) of the E side of this S-facing chamber are in situ. The eastern portal-stone lies fallen at the front of the chamber (min. L 2m). About 8m NE of the chamber there is a slightly curved line (L c. 4m) of five stones on edge. The stones, which are not set into the ground, form an inner face to a slight bank of earth. While of uncertain age and function this feature is hardly of any great antiquity. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 61-2, no. 99)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
