The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating pasture, on a slight NE-facing slope and c. 40m SW of the Feorish River. A raised circular area (20m N-S; 21m E-W) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.1m) of earth and stone is evident all round and is faced internally and externally in many places either with single upright limestone slabs (up to 1.2m square) or un-mortared limestone blocks in two to three courses. The inner bank is broken at SSE (Wth 0.9m), S (Wth 1m), WNW (Wth 0.8m) and NNW (Wth. 0.9m). The intervening fosse (Wth 4m at base) is evident NW-N and E-SE. The outer bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.45m) is earthen and evident only E-SE, at WNW and NNW-N. The interior is raised to compensate for the hillslope and is level dry and clear of overgrowth. There is a field clearance cairn (diam. 2m; H 0.3m) to E of the centre.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
