The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on top of the N-facing slope of a ridge. A raised oval area (26m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 2m) with possible stone kerb along the internal face of the bank at N. There is a possible entrance (Wth 5m) at NE. A shallow external fosse (Wth 3m), evident S-NE, is overgrown with rushes. A field boundary skirts the fosse S-NW while E-S the fosse is recut with upcast added to the external face of the bank.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
