The National Monuments Service's description

On the S side of a ridge top. A slightly raised circular area (diam. 18m) enclosed by remains of an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.8m), best preserved along the N arc with only faint traces along the E arc. The bank is incorporated into a N-S field boundary along the W arc. A thick band (Wth 2m) of rushes and irises may indicate the line of an external fosse. A possible entrance (Wth 1.5m) is at ESE. The interior is covered with rushes and long grass and slopes gently down to S. The perimeter of the rath is overgrown with gorse and hawthorn bushes. An E-W field boundary lies immediately to N and another on the same axis extends to E from the NE bank.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
