The National Monuments Service's description

In low-lying wet pasture, on a slight SSE-facing slope 20m NE of the shore of Ardrea Lough. A drain truncates the E side of a horseshoe-shaped grass-covered mound (15.4m N-S; 10.2m E-W to edge of drain; H 0.35m). An opening (Wth 2m) faces SW toward the lake. No burnt stone or charcoal are visible on the surface of the mound and the sides of the drain are grass-covered. There is a possible fulacht fia (SL033-195002-) immediately to SE and a possible crannog (SL033-194----) in the immediate vicinity. (Bermingham 1996, 31)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
