The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the slight SE-facing slope of a drumlin. A roughly circular raised area (18m N-S; 17m E-W) defined by a scarp with an inner lip and an external fosse. The scarp with the inner lip (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.05m) is evident WSW-SSE but is very degraded elsewhere. The fosse (D 0.15m) is evident only SSE-NW. The interior slopes slightly down to SE and is clear of overgrowth. A NW-SE field boundary crosses the S half of the interior, through the scarp at WSW and SSE. A relict field boundary (on a NNW-SSE axis) abuts the scarp at NNW where it turns at a right angle to extend in a straight line along the top of the scarp NW-NNE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
