The National Monuments Service's description
In level pasture, on the S bank of a meander of the Owenmore River. A subrectangular area (22.5m N-S; 27.5m E-W) defined by a fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.4m) on the S, W and N sides and by the river on the E side. The faint trace of an outer fosse is evident as a band of dark vegetation on the W and possibly the S side in an aerial photograph (IASAP, G 3037011-2). A rectangular feature (5m N-S; 7m E-W) is also visible in the aerial photograph in the N half of the interior.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
