The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on the summit of a rise and on the NW-facing slope of a drumlin. A roughly circular area (42m N-S; 45m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with an external fosse. The bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 2.65m) is evident E-WNW; elsewhere the interior is defined by a scarp. The entrance is via a ramp (Wth 8m) at E. A shallow fosse (Wth 2.3m) is evident SE-NNW where it crosses level ground with a moderate natural slope beyond; from NNW-NNE there is an outward-facing terrace cut along the steep natural slope of the drumlin giving a near vertical profile to the external face of the bank here. The interior is undulating and naturally raised above the level of the enclosing bank and fosse, being highest at the centre. It is under grass and clear of overgrowth.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
