The National Monuments Service's description
On low-lying generally level pasture some 1.3km SW of Knocknashee Mountain. The tomb is represented by the remains of a SSE-facing gallery (L c. 8m). There is no evidence of a court but a transversely set jamb at the W would seem to have formed one side of the entrance. A large rectangular block of stone (2.1m x 1m x 0.7m) lying prostrate at the gallery entrance seems to be a displaced lintel. The W side of the gallery is represented by three orthostats and a fallen one. One orthostat adjoins the entrance jamb; next to this is a fallen one; the two other orthostats stand 1m apart at the inner end of the gallery. Two orthostats survive next to each other at the outer end of the E side of the gallery. An almost prostrate slab at the N end of the gallery seems to be the backstone.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
