The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a S-facing slope of a ridge. A rectangular area (24.3m NE-SW; 18.2m NW-SE) defined on the NE and SW sides and the N half of the SE side by an earthen bank (Wth 3m; at NE int. H 0.6m, ext. H 0.2m; at SW int. H 0.4m, ext. H 0.6m). A scarp (H 1.7m) defines the S half of the SE side. The NW side is terraced into the upslope with the interior 0.3m lower than external ground level. The interior is raised on the S side to compensate for the hillslope. Indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. A rath (SL032-094001-) lies c. 40m to NNE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
