The National Monuments Service's description
On level ground, on the N-facing slope of a ridge. An oval area (30m N-S; 37m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.3m) S-W and by a scarp (H 0.7m) elsewhere. An intervening dry flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 7.6m) separates the inner bank and the scarp from a middle flat-topped earthen bank (Wth 4.7m; int. H 1.2m; ext. H 1.75m). The middle bank is separated from an outer bank by a dry flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 5m; D 0.3m) which survives all round except at SE. The outer bank (Wth 2m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.3m) is evident N-ESE and contains large stones. The interior is overgrown with bushes and in the centre is a possible hut site (SL032-007003-) and an associated possible souterrain (SL032-070002-).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
