The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on the S-facing slope of a ridge. The enclosure is levelled. The remains consist of an oval area (max. dims. 61m NW-SE; 44m NE-SW) terraced into the hillslope, with the NW and N portions of the interior 0.8m below and S and SE portions 0.7m above external ground level. The interior slopes gently down to SE and is crossed by the remains of cultivation ridges. A levelled field boundary abuts the enclosure along the N arc. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a large circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m). On the 1914 OS 6-inch map an arc of hachures depict a scarp E-SW. A slightly oval enclosure is visible in an aerial photograph (IASAP, 3033124-5).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
