The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a low N-S ridge bounded on the E and W sides by two streams. At least eleven small rectangular fields are evident to E and S of Abbey Court friary (SL032-047001-) and adjacent to a rath (SL032-047003-). The smallest field measures 12m x 21m while the largest measures 43m x 52m. The field boundaries consist of either low earthen banks (Wth 2-3m), sometimes with silted-up fosses, or scarps (H 0.1-0.4m). These fields may be the remains of gardens and paddocks associated with the abbey. There is a similar field system (SL032-188004-) associated with the ecclesiastical remains at Achonry (SL032-188001-), c. 3.5km to S.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
