The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a low steep-sided rise in the foothills of the Ox Mountains. A circular area (c. 26m N-S; c. 24m E-W) defined by partially rebuilt drystone wall (Wth 1.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.8m) incorporating rock outcrop at S. The ground slopes down naturally for 4-6m all round the perimeter of the wall to a flat terrace (Wth 3.7-6.6m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.5m) SSE-WNW and NNW-NNE and by a scarp, which drops 2.2m to another flat terrace (Wth 3m), NE-SSE. An external fosse (Wth 6m) and a counterscarp bank (Wth 3m; H 1m) are evident SSE-SSW and WSW-WNW. There is a souterrain (SL031-038002-) in the S half of the interior.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
