The National Monuments Service's description
In flat marshy ground, c. 350m W of the River Moy. A slightly raised roughly circular area (c. 28m E-W) enclosed by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.5m) E-SW and WNW-N and by a scarp SW-WNW. A field boundary and drain truncate the bank N-ENE. The entrance (Wth 3.5m) is at SE. An external boggy flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 6m; D 0.5m) is evident ENE-SE and NW-N. The interior is wet and overgrown with hawthorn bushes. There is a field boundary immediately to SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
